I See Color

I See Color

48x60. “I See Color.” Painted with oil, finished with resin.

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “we are just quotation marks of our ancestors.”

We are mosaics. Each woman in this painting is a mosaic of colors found in the flags of her ancestors. Jamaican, African, English, Scandinavian, Italian, American. We are not one color, we are all of them. We are mosaics. I see color, celebrate color, and am enamored by the depth it creates.
